RARE!!! 1978 USA Special Edition Kombi. Not Camper

….1978 T2 Champagne Edition II Rececnt US import, all duties paid The Champagne Edition was a sales campaign that VW did in 1977 and 1978. The 1978 models are referred to as Champagne Edition II. These models included special colors and accessories. The CEII Bus for 1978 was retro cool with it’s Fox Red and Datenut Brown paint with 3 color tape stripes and a two tone (Beige and Sienna) corduroy interior with chrome bumpers and rubbing strips and full tinted windows. This example also has air-con. Amazimg original condition for 34 years old. These Champaign Edition vehicles are particularly rare (try finding one for sale)! and like any special edition model VW will always command a high price tag by collectors. 2.0 fuel injection engine. Servo brakes. Starts runs and drives. Apart from the drivers door which has been repainted, the body has all its original paint and is not burnt through like most. It is very straight, damage and dent free condition. It really is super clean and original condition. Underneath the bus is really clean and solid, it has a thin layer of bodyguard which is peeling back in many places to reveal the shiny original brown paint. There is a very small amount of metal repairs required to the o/s battery tray, osr side marker has rusted out, small repair to front cab floor from windscreen leaking, osf bottom of wheel arch(box section good) and rear of front inner arch (above jacking point(which is solid))on both sides. Please note that the welding really is minimal and is all good solid metal to repair to. I’m offering the bus for sale at a very reasonable price. If you work on buses yourself you could easily have it ready for MOT in a week. This bus MOT’d and registered with a tiny bit of tlc would be up for sale at £10k starting so it’s a very good investment. In the modern VW world it’s hard to be different let alone stand out from the crowd, this is the bus you will be on your own in a line up! ….here is my 1978 tin top bay for sale its a 2.0L FI injection engine that pulls the van along very well ,starts evry time and so far never let me down ,i bought this van at the start of the year after it was imported by another person ,i have since redone the brakes ,fuel lines ,balljoints,track rods,throttle cable ,fuel pump ,drive shafts ,electrics ,new tyres,lights you name it it s had to be sorted to get it running and a moted ,i got it reg,ed for the uk so all that side of things is done ,i also fitted a brand new empi quiet pack exhaust that looked nice and shinny for about 50 miles then the paint burned of it and it now looks brown ,not what i expected . the body is straight bar a few dents on the nose and bumpers , it is 99percent rot free with only surface rust on the roof and pillers ,the doors, arches,sills outrigers etc are PREFECT .this van will not need to see a welder for many years ., it looks near new underneath .the outside paint work is ok its not show winning but its defo not the worst that i have seen . inside it has porsche seats fitted up front and a rockn roll bed in the back ,and a table its basic but thats how i wanted it …also in this van the heating does work and there is a good stream of hot air coming into the cab .also its had new window rubbers and rear tints on the windows , the bus drives really well on the road it will happy sit at 55-65mph and i have even managed a few overtakes in it ….rare eh lol,i use this bay everyday on the school run ,shopping ,dump run and it never lets me down it really is a great reliable van that wont need much done to it over the next few years ,just jump in and enjoy ,all it really needs are the door ,and rear hatch seals doing as they have seen better days but still work fine ,if your looking that u would like as i have nothing to hide on it ……….,remember this is NOT a project bus its mot,ed taxed and running well with all the hard work down …………….. i took my van into my work and got it up on the ramp for some pics underneath as that is what everone wants to see on these bays and i dont think it will disapoint ,it looks amost new underneath even the mechanical parts look spot on ,i looked at a few bays before i bought this one and to be honest i bought it of the pics the guy sent me ,it was a project van not running and needing complete going over of everything ,so i donr the following 1.new disc ,pads seal kit s in calipers new flexi brake hoses front wheel bearings balljoints trackrods new headlights repairs to heater cables ,tubes ,exchangers porcshe learher seats fitted up front new window seals and windoe tints new door locks and handles new cv boots x4 new fuel lines (all) new fuel pump and filter rear brakes where cleaned adjusted , new rear lights ,complete , new side marker lights new engine bay seel new fuel ecu relay (mega ££££) new 3 point seat belts (all round ) new mirors new steering bearing and bushes plugs ,oil ,filter ,rot arm and cap new engine mounts the engine was removed and stripped to the block as it had a few oil leaks,i suspect the engine had either been rebuilt of was a recon and the pistons and the bores where in very good clean condition (still very silver looking ) you could even still see the hone marks on the bores ,………..i can never prove this but when i bought the van i was more than prepaired to replace the engine or rebbuild it and was very surprized at the condition of it …and i think that shows when you drive it as it will pull the van along very well and will sit happy at 65mph which is fast enough for me . inside i put in a very simple interia as i wanted to use the van for the last few weeks of summer ,it has new foam ,JK campers rocknroll hinges fitted to a wood base bed ,a new table and a buddy seat ,its simple but that how i wanted it ,my plan was to get a proper interia for it …like a westy one from a show or the internet as nothing fits better than the proper stuff . the van started as a 1978 mirobus 2.0 L fuel injection engine the FI they call it ,from the sunny state of california ,when i got it it still had the seats in the back ,that was all stripped out and the cargo floor was cleaned and it was prefect no rust ,in fact i never had to put a welder near it which was a surprise . the body would need a paint theres no point in lying about it ,(still looks ok at a distance but up close it would need a tidy ,defo not the worst but )the nose has some dents in it and filler (not because of rust holes just dents ) and the rear drivers corner has had a dent knocked out and filled (done well but i know its there )the rest of the van is great with rust free doors ,rear engine hatch ,rear boot door ,and slideing door all prefect and rust free ,the roof has surface rust all over but its not bad at all looks far worse than it is ,i am maybe trying to undersell it but i would rather make it sound worse than it that way u wouldnt be disapointed ,. there is prob lots more but that s all i can think of this now ,in a nut shell its a very solid bay ,that has not been mucked about and hacked with it runs and drives well ,mot,ed taxed just ready forsomeone to but there ….Lovely blue and white VW camper van. New Mexican engine. Nine months MOT . Interior needs soft furnishings. Some rust on body work – particularly rear bumper. Much loved family holiday van, need to sell as family have outgrown it and we have no garage to store it in. Engine is great, body needs a bit of minor work. Buyer pick up only.

Type 2 Campervan

….I have for sale ‘Cheryl’. She has been fully restored with no expense spared. I believe i am the 2nd owner, i brought it over from the USA, and i have spent a lot of time and money getting her into this condition. As you can see from the pics she is in pretty much mint condition. She is looked after well and garaged in the dry. There is 12 months MOT from this month. The engine and gearbox are all in great condition, it has only done 77000 miles FROM NEW!! It as a full service history and the book is all stamped. Everything that has ever been done to this bus since its birth gas been documented in a journal that comes with the her. ….Here for sale is my 1983 bay window camper project i bought over a year ago but havnt had time to finish it let alone start it the chap i got it off had loads of panels fitted the side rear panels have warped over rear archs one side would need a whole panel fitting which comes with it all the panels that were fitted are front panel / inner lower panel / front arches / front steps / inner and outer sills / rear arches / rear whole corners / all jacking points / battrie trays chassis looks in good condition i can only see a few plates needed to finish all the welding and the inner panel behind dash so mainly its body work pop top in very good condition just needs a clean good 1.6 engine ( not fitted ) all glass with new rubbers they were fitted but ive taken them out servo brakes work and looks like recon front calipers the front tyres are like new and back are very good needs interior but have a pr of high back beetle seats with it comes with all its lights dash front doors in good condition pass side needs hinge sorting has loads of parts with it as seen it pics for any details tel 07909334256 collection within 7 days delivery can be arranged at a price
