1973 VW WESTFALIA CAMPER 1800cc – ORIGINAL – LOW MILES – THE BEST

4 owners from new – 68000 genuine miles – original body

….1973 VW WESTFALIA CAMPER VANTHIS IS QUITE SIMPLY THE BEST AND MOST ORIGINAL EXAMPLE YOU WILL FIND ON OFFER ANYWHERE I AM THE 4th OWNER SINCE NEW (in 43 YEARS) AND THE VEHICLE HAS COVERED 68000 GENUINE MILES. FINISHED IN ITS ORIGINAL FACTORY COLOUR, ALTHOUGH REPAINTED TO A VERY HIGH STANDARD WHILST IN MY OWNERSHIP THE BUS HAS NEVER HAD ANY REPLACEMENT PANELS OR STRUCTURAL REPAIRS AND IS 100% FACTORY ORIGINAL. I HAVE NEVER SEEN ONE AS STRAIGHT AND CORRECT AS THIS ONE AND I DOUBT WHETHER THERE IS ANOTHER AVAILABLE. ABSOLUTELY ROCK SOLID AND AS GOOD UNDERNEATH AS IT IS ON TOP . THIS VAN IS IN MINT, PERFECT, SHOW STANDARD CONDITION BOTH INSIDE AND OUT. COSMETICALLY , STRUCTURALLY AND MECHANICALLY PERFECT AND COMPLETELY WITHOUT FAULT I have owned the van for 3 years and I purchased it from a known seller who converts and customises VWs to the highest standard. Whilst in the UK it has always been dry stored and never seen bad weather and prior to this spent its earlier days in a dry, salt free climate. I have used the van regularly and it has never once let me down. Always a first time starter and totally reliable. Meticulously maintained and cosseted by myself and the owner before me and having had no expense spared in keeping this remarkable vehicle in such fine order I can guarantee without question that this lovely van will not disappoint any prospective purchaser. Fitted with a US spec 1800 flat 4 on twin weber carbs I have found the van to be much easier to live with in modern traffic than the stock UK 1600 vans. Easily capable of keeping up with modern traffic and quite comfortable cruising at motorway speeds of 70mph and without the constant gearshifts on hilly roads due to the more powerful engine and increased torque. Recently the van had a full service and new empi exhaust fitted and has completed a 200mile run out this week after 5 months standing with no issues at all – started first crack and performed faultlessly. I feel this bears testament to just how well kept an example this one is.very rare in having its original tin roof with timber roof lining and one of only a handful of examples which have survived and have not been pop-topped The previous owner lowered the bus slightly , fitted narrower beams, banded steels and retrimmed the interior completely ,aswell as installing a custom hi fi with all the usual bits and bobs, amps, subs, etc, I’m not a hi fi man so am not too clear on the spec but its ridiculously Loud and shakes the ground if you want that kind of thing. I have fitted a 240v hook up for site hook ups but it can also be run from a suitcase generator which I will include in the sale-this is very quiet and runs 2000watts so can power all household gadgets without tripping out. the generator is included in the sale of the van. there are 2x240v sockets, 2×12 volt outlets and a USB charger socket along with a leisure battery set up and invertor so lower wattage items can be run from the leisure battery without the hook up. The van has the standard sink and fridge plus which work well along with period storage cabinets and wardrobe, aswell as a rock and roll bed and child bunk upfront. I have had an extension to the bed made which allows the bed to open out to 7 feet in length for a more comfortable nights sleep. I also have a period roof rack which is included in the salecomes with original handbook and manual, original keys which fit all locks, folder full of bills, old mots and invoices I will sell the van with a fresh MOT and of course this VW is now tax exempt. any interested parties please contact me on 01924 266233 or 07702 050603to arrange a viewing this VW will not disappoint and any mechanical inspection or trial is welcome thank you
