1977 VW T2 Westfalia Camper Van LHD

….I have owned this Van since August 2014 and I am only selling as I have bought a T5. It was imported into the UK in 2011 from the USA. I have used it every year for weekends away and also two holidays touring around Europe. It has been very reliable and has never let me down and I wouldn’t hesitate taking it around Europe again. The 2 Litre engine drives well and I have no problem selecting any of the gears. The fridge is in full working order and I have fitted a portable 15l water tank which is hooked up to the sink. Both gas rings work and the is a camping Gaz bottle in the cupboard under the sink. Since I Bought the van, the following work has been done: New Dual 34 Weber CarburettorsNew Clutch and CableNew distributor, Coil and Electronic Ignition230V Hook up, including double socket with USB pointsFront & Rear shock absorbersDiscs & PadsSteering DamperSteering CouplerCV Joints and BootsRe-installed the heating, including booster fanLeisure Battery New 12v Transformer for fridgeSmart Charger for Leisure BatteryNew Stainless Steel Door MirrorsRe-installed the thermostat for cold startingInstalled 12v Led Light strip12v Sockets and Fuse box to run off Leisure batteryNew vinyl matting around front seats.Changed gear box oil I have changed the oil and filter every 6 months and the plugs every year. The Van was Ziebart treated in the late 1970’s when in the USA (I have the paper work). This was a form of cavity wax and I have to admit it has protected it. It is solid both underneath and along all the sills. It had been treated in the engine bay, which looks black in parts. I started taking some of it with thinners and the paint was as good as new underneath. I have since added further cavity wax in the pre drilled holes to ensure it stays as good. There is one minor blemish on the drivers door (see photo) which is very minor and would take very little money to repair. It is now registered road tax free and the V5 has been updated to “Historic” classification. It is MOT’D until 7th August 2018. It has never failed an MOT since I have owned it. The front seats were upholstered by the former owner and he had the cab carpets fitted. The pop top works fine and and the canvas is in very good condition. I have really looked after this van and it has been in a heated garage for all the time I have owned it. I have a big file of paper work, including things from the USA and a dating certificate I bought from VW last year. I have made a video of the van (see link below).
