1978 Volkswagen bay window

….1978 Late Bay Volkswagen Bay Window Devon Moonraker Vehicle has been owned and restored by myself for the past 6 years or so but now time has come for it to go to a new owner who will appreciate it. Former colour was yellow and beige, but decided to repaint it in sepia brown metallic and frozen white. Van has had two new front arches, rear quarter panel and new boot lid all Brazilian import parts. I’ve tried to keep the out outside original while keeping the inside to a modern standard. I’ve had all the units redesigned to make it a little more modern, with more storage space, also added a smeg gas and sink combo, leisure battery and external hook up. All the interior and been recovered in brown and white leatherette to match the paint work of the van. Brand new Porsche 5 spoke fuchs alloy wheels, painted in white with a chrome lip, all with brand new tyres which are 15 inch. Van is very solid underneath with no welding work carried out, outriggers are very solid with no signs of rust or softness. Engine was fully rebuilt about 5 years ago when bought as the van didn’t have an engine, this is a 1600cc, its had new tinware (complete set) new pertronix flame thrower leads plugs and coil kit. Alternator conversion, new exhaust after market, (with original and another after market spare) new alternator belt, brand new electronic ignition so no need for points and worrying about starting issues etc.. new starter and stator complete new fuel lines fuel filter, new crank pully, brand new carb (with spare) brand new throttle cable and just been fully serviced. New wing mirrors as there is surface rust starting to appear, but not fitted, new indicator lenses, new headlight rings, new interior door cards, new sun visors has original radio and original dash and wheel, front of dash is sun bleached and starting to fade, Under sealed but is due to be wax oiled also. I have receipts for everything that has been changed also. Van has only covered 71000 miles from new which is very low considering this van is approaching its 40th birthday very soon. Roof has no tears and is water tight, it also has bunk beads but i have not fitted them as there were no need but are there. Every single rubber seal you can think of has been changes on the bus so everything is brand new, from window seals to engine lid seals, There is a lot of history with this van and it being the Devon moonraker its quite rare and will only increase with value also its a UK bus so is right hand drive. In one of the pictures you’ll notice that the two bars are missing from the roof, roof still works fine but i cannot and couldn’t find them anywhere, as all of the replacement parts came from the likes of just kampers, vw heritage we just couldn’t locate them anywhere we tried. There has been £1000s upon £1000s spent on this van over the last 6 years, where every single part that has been changed has been replaced with a brand new part, van gets serviced regularly even when not being used. If your looking to start a new adventure in your life then this is definitely the van for you as its practically brand new and all the hard work has been done, also you have the chance to own a iconic part of history that will only increase in value with age, which doesn’t normally happen with any other motor vehicle you would buy. Viewing this van is a must and is located in south/west wales. More detailed photos can be sent on request so please ask if you do require some more. There may be things that i have missed out but any questions you have i’ll be happy to answer them 17k ono Many thanks
