….1971 Volkswagen camper van bay window (tin top). Very reluctant sale due to expanding family. We have owned her for the last 8 years and have spent whatever was necessary to keep her in good condition. Bodywork is good all round. Recently stripped and repainted in pastel Blue and Old English white Sealed under body, Lowered suspension. Newly re-upholstered bed / rear and front seats and new curtains throughout. Recent vinyl floor. CD player. EMPI ‘Easy-shift’ gear lever fitted. Recently installed cupboards in light wood, tops in white and fold-away table. ’Fridge size’ Cool box runs off leisure battery. A ¾ bench seat that rolls out to a double bed, the rear bench seat can sit 2 and includes legal seat belts Winter stored every year. Good tyres and chrome caps included in sale. ….For sale is my 1974 VW CamperbusFirst registered 03/10/1974 in Germany, L/H Drive, The Bus underwent a major restoration, engine tuning and interior refit in 1996. It’s been off the road since 2004. The good things: Exterior: Original Westfalia spare wheel box. Hard to find now. Good chrome mirrors. Chrome Eyelids over Headlights. Double glazed insulation windows x 4, one with small whole. 3 piece opening window with Fly net (removable) in sliding door,bottom pane has come off. Long elevating roof, sleeps 2, good seals, roof tent in excellent condition, no wholes, tears or rot, with window and Fly net (This was bought new from the Westfalia Factory Museum and was one of the last remaining original Westfalia roof tents). Original Westfalia roof luggage box, contains working 53 watt Solar panel. Engine: The engine was tuned by VW specialist Kumetat of Gelsenkirchen, Gemany. Porsche Pistons, Twin Solex 40 PDS Carburettors, 40 mm inlet, 38 mm outlet, Oilsump extension, additional front Oil cooler, K & N Air filter, contactless Ignition. The engine is turning and is dry underneath. It is officially rated at 91 BHP but was closer to 116 BHP on the Dyno. Acceleration was 9.5 s from 0 – 60 mph, the top speed in the region of 115 mph.Interior:The Interior was build by Syro in Unna, Germany. It’s based on a combination of 2 classic Westafalia designs. Storage space was paramount in this design as I had it planned to support a family of 4 for at least 3 weeks of Touring holiday. The Rock’n Roll Bed/Bench sleeps 2 and seats 3 with lap seat belts fitted. The Bench is pretty unique as it has 2 removable Head rests fitted for additional safety. Above the bed is a hanging Cupboard on the left side a 3 compartment Cupboard. Further on the left is another small seat with lap seat belt fitted. Underneath this are all the electrics, fuse box, Trumatic 1800 Heater/Air circulator and a battery charger which is fed by the Solar Panel or 230 V from the external hook up. Next to the seat is a tall cupboard with 3 divisions, the bottom one holding a 5 ltr. gas bottle. Next to the sliding door is the Electrolux RM 185 R Fridge/Freezer, this runs on either 12 V, 230 V or gas. Above it is a 2 hob cooker and sink. water supply is via an 80 ltr. fresh water tank under the car. There is also a table holder. Other good stuff:Full set of curtains, hand made. Drivers compartment carpet, Hurst style Gear shift with reverse gear lock, 3 additional instruments (Rev counter, Oil temp., Oil pressure) in a handmade stainless steel instrument holder. Fog lights, extra Hi beam and rear Fog light fitted. Tow bar, Electronic Immobiliser, Underfloor Neons (Neon lights are broken), A full Set of original Westfalia Fly nets for all Doors and Windows. This is extremely rare. I’ll also add 2 big boxes of spares and an original Haynes repair manual. I still have got lots of paperwork, invoices and catalogues. Around 65000 DM (30000 £) was spend in 1996 on the car. The bad things:Rust, a lot. It’ll take a major effort and skill to take this car back on the road. Some say every VW can be rescued as all parts are still available and seeing what good campers sell for these days it may well be worth it. I always wanted to do it, but life and kids got in the way and a move in the near future now forces my hand.The car was never registered in the UK, the German registration Documents are here. The Petrol tank is perforated by rust. The sliding door bottom runner is gone so the sliding door would only open with lots of care and effort. The front doors only open from the inside, there are no front seats, driver and passenger window do not open.Door- and roof lining at front has holes from speakers. 2 Battery (normally fed by Solar Panel) does not charge any more. Even if you are not thinking about restoring the Bus itself you might have a good empty Bus shell ready to transplant the engine, interior and all the other good things.Either way it will be well worth it.I can send loads more pictures by mail.Remember this is a 41 year old car so make sure you can trailer it away, you will also need a winch I guess to get it onto the trailer Happy bidding.

….For Sale my 1973 Tax exempt VW Westfalia Baywindow, in the colour of Orange/Cream, I purchased this to do as a project and restore it back to its original condition, But have now had to put my time into another large project (a house) and now no longer have the time to do this. It has all its original westfalia interior but is not in fixed into place due to having put in new Karndean flooring. every thing is there, a few things will need to be done e.g. covering the rear seats and purchasing door cards for the rear, so all it needs is a bit of TLC to put it all back together.The engine ran but I found a inlet manifold problem, it has a new carb plus the original, but will need a new manifold its also had a gear box rebuild last year, and a new clutch, flywheel , igniter 1 electronic ignition, fitted.Brand new 15″ Porsche Fusch wheels never been used with brand new tyres all round, costing over £500, still have all 5 original wheels and tryes too. Been lowered with drop spindles from COOL AIR! costing over £500, Brand New CSP quick shift fitted costing £220, Brand new full set of Baywindow curtains and tracks never been fitted. Body work is in pretty good condition, there are a few spots that need attention, very sound underneath no holes etc. Need to sell quick as need the space in new home. any other info call 07974256699 Cash on collection!!!

….EXTERIOR This 1972 VW Bay window Deluxe camper has been faithfully restored and looked after and is in superb condition. The van spent most of its life in the hot dry climate of California and as such remains rust free and largely original. Painted in an VW lotus white, the rubber door and window seals have recently been replaced. INTERIOR The interior has just been luxuriously refurbished with red leather-look fabric, edged with white piping. All the door cards have been replaced to match and the fabric is wipe down for easy cleaning after long bouts on the road. The flooring is black and white checked vinyl and the curtains are a retro striped cotton. ENGINE & TRANSMISSION The engine was replaced two years ago after an eventful European trip taking in 2500 miles and culminating in a melt down with kids and engine (the fan belt went, we didn’t stop). It has been replaced with the German authentic 1600cc engine, which runs beautifully. LEFT HAND DRIVE WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES The brakes have been overhauled as have many of the suspension components. The tyres have good tread and the wheels are in good condition. HISTORY FILE This Van was imported from California so there is little in the way of service history. Importantly it is the condition of the van with its solid floor pans and a large amount of its original features still intact that make this a fantastic example of VW’s iconic Camper. NEW MOT
