….Hi, It is with regret i must sell my 71 bay. It is moted and taxed , although tax free. I purchased this van last year and have used it last summer with no problems. I bought the van from a gentleman in his 70s .He owned this van for 20 years plus and it was one owner when he purchased it. It is very original . Anyone is welcome to view and take for a test drive . It is a tidy van although would benefit from bit of a make over. Mainly to the arches and some attention to the cab floor. A local garage gave me a good quote to tidy her up. Although there are lots of vans on ebay that have a coat of paint and full of filler for alot more money, Only to find a crock of horrors later !. The interior is mostly original with both tables and the seven legs for different sleeping arrangements . The curtains and cushion covers have been replaced . I have quite a bit of paper work for her including some original devon handbooks . She was registered in november 1971 so is over 40 now . The pop top is in great conditon although does have a few bits of tape to repell water. The van is totally dry inside. It has original bunks in the roof although the original fabric will need replacing. I will add interior pictures asap.The engine is sweet and never let me down and starts first time.When it left the factory it was a deluxe so has aditional heating vent in the back . She is an alround great van and will be able to be driven home no problem.Also included is a hammock for the cab (not original) that will sleep a child, or great space to put bedding during the day.I have the original dudley cooker although currently not fitted.This is a great opportunity to buy a genuine right hand drive t2 on the key ready for camping.Any Questions please use ebay or call Bill on 07745 316402.

….This is my 1973 Vw bay window twin slider camper, I have owned this for over 2yrs now and have had it dry stored since then, due to lack of time i have decided to try and sell it on This is an easy project for someone with a little time and money, the bodywork is solid and straight with only a few more patches and panels needed welding,see photos. The chassis looks clean and solid, but the offside sill needs replacing . overall the body is good condition. The engine i have with it is stripped down and needs putting back together,Not sure If it works or not, the devon poptop is in fair condition with the bellows needing attention. No interior. front bench seats in good condition. All glass and 90% of fittings ie lights, handles ,bumpers etc included. This vw is a perfect project for someone who doesnt want a full resto job. ….Early Bay Window, 1972, Devon Bay VW Window Camper Van – £11,495 ono. I have owned the van since 2005, and last year I spent a lot of time getting it ready and making it into a van fit for Weddings and functions. I have got it to this stage but due to financial circumstances and home ownership I am now selling. Bodywork Fully restored and in excellent condition. Professionally re-sprayed December 2011 (receipts). It is Navy blue with the original VW Pastel Weiss coloured top half. Welding to the battery tray, wheel arches and seat belt mounts completed 2011. No requirement to re-weld the body panels as they are the original panels which are in excellent condition. Brand new rubber seals on all windows, engine bay and sliding door. Door rubbers are from Custom and Commercial – 2 years old and excellent fit – summer 2011 (receipts). Brand new chrome doomed (vw logo) wheel Hub caps – summer 2011 (receipts) Large VW Chrome Badge on the front, Chrome grill and authentic AA members badge. New Chrome Hella Headlights and surrounds with new lower indicators and rubbers.Interior A completely new interior from VW Trim August 2011. Beige/cream Original Seats and and door cards. (receipts) New door handles (with one key system fitted by VW Custom and commercial) and interior handles. New Sun Visors New full-width rock and roll bed with bespoke Blue/white check gingham interior foam covers and curtains. Never used (receipts) Interior has been fully re-lined, including the pop-up roof. Brand new spare wheel and cover in the rear/ with new jacking system (receipts) Brand new black carpet throughout from VW Trim (receipts) Sound system Brand new Pioneer (CD/Radio/MP3) Sound system in the front and the rear, under the rock and roll bed. Purchased in August 2011 – receipts. Devon pop-top roof Original Devon pop-top roof with conciteena in good condition. A few splits in the plastic when fully lifted up but doesn’t cause any water leakage. A new roof cap from Just Kampers to irradicate any potential leaks. The bunk beds were taken out during the re-lining and restoration. I still have the bunks but I have not put them back in the van due to not needing them as the rock and roll bed sufficed. The bunks are in excellent condition structurally. Engine In March 2011 Mr Laurie Petit (renown VW engine Specialist in Great Britain) fully rebuilt the stock 1600 engine, with new dynamo, single Carboretta, new bearings, rings and valves with all seals and gaskets. Also fitted were stock air cleaner, heat riser and oil cooler. I have driven in the region of 2,500 miles since this work was complete. Mechanical In August 2011, Jack’s VW Specialist London, fitted a new clutch cable, break pads and discs, anti-roll bars, brushs, ball joints and shock front shock absorbers – along with setting the wheel balance and alignment. Full MOT until October 2012 – ********TAX EXEMPT************ It is a beautiful van as can be seen from the photos and I have 3 weddings interested in using the van next summer should you wish to persue this avenue of business of make some extras money??
