….For sale is my awesome splitty, I have owned this bus for the last 4 years and am now reluctantly selling her due to time constraints in using it. This is a vehicle that likes to be used and enjoyed. The bus has been professionally lowered and has a bespoke stainless steel exhaust all carried out by Beetle Link in Farnham, surrey. I fitted a new interior which I got from a guy who had made one for his bus and then using the same template made another one and sold it to me. It is very simple but convenient, in my opinion. The two rear bench seats convert into a double bed using the table as the middle part. A friend of mine made curtains and covers for the rear seats. I bought and fitted new cream coloured door cards. The van has just been mot’d and fully serviced ready for the summer. During this service I had a new clutch fitted as I felt the other one was slightly worn. A couple of years ago I had new rear wheel bearings fitted and oil seals. The van never fails to turn heads and has been used to transport school leavers to their prom. The bodywork is in good condition, there are a couple of areas of slight bubbling under paintwork around the front window and one rear quarter but nothing that can’t be sorted. The bus has safari windows to the front and rear with two further pop out windows down the side. All wheels are new alloy radar style with as new tyres including the spare. Roof rack also included in sale. I fitted a mph speedo so I didn’t have to keep converting from kph! The engine is a reconditioned 1600cc unit which has good pulling power and it,doesn’t lose too much pace on hills, it will happily cruise at 60-70 mph. Please don’t forget that this vehicle is 46 years old, it is not a modern vehicle and doesn’t have the mod cons of a modern vehicle. Please come and have a look. ….*** I am open to part ex offers ideally with cash my way *** 1959 VW Split screen van I imported this van from Utah USA last year where the previous owner restored it. It came from a town called Sandy so as you can imagine it has been used in a very dry climate so there is not rust. It has never been used on the roads in the UK – only for taking these pictures! It was in storage all winter and is now ready to go for the summer. It is in fantastic condition as all the pictures show. Since owning it I have fitted brand new chrome towel rail bumpers (life time anti-corrosion warranty) and recovered the rear seating. It has just had a full service at VW specialist Kraftwerk in Stoke and has 12 months mot and tax (which is free). The engine was rebuilt in the states and is the original sized 1200cc, it was also flushed through with oil by Kraftwerk – it looks and runs great. Van and beetle engines are easily interchangeable (just 4 bolts) so a larger one could easily be fitted if desired, this one would easily sell in the condition its in. It has new white wall tyres all round including the spare. The rear space was a custom made job by the previous owner, plenty of storage space with the room to be used as a bed if required. There are cupboards to each side, and one facing the front. The cushions lift up for even more storage room. The side doors and rear window have tinted glass fitted. It is unusual for a van of this year to have the rear vents so quite a rarity. The van may well of been used for drag racing at some time before the restoration, hence the rear arches being designed the way they are. I have the V5 and a set of classic black and silver reg plates for it – the number is 332 YUL It has an alpine stereo in the dash. Only bad points are that it needs a head lining in the drivers cab and the dials on the dash are not working, they have never been reconnected since the rebuild. I am only selling due to moving house and getting married in the next couple of months, so obviously need the money, it took me a long time to find this van and I thought I would be keeping it for many years visiting many shows in it so I would love it to go to another vw enthusiast who can enjoy it and use it for this purpose. ….for sale my much loved “jc” he is a 1967 split screen camper, bought by us 5 yrs ago and has a full restoration; bare metal respray in gulf colours, very little welding was needed more cosmetic than anything else,engine was removed and a brand new 2ltr twin port was fitted done roughly 5,000 miles with under body external oil cooler with electric fan,brand new twin solex carbs,disc brake conversion on front, the van has been lowered also has genuine porsche fuch wheels and as new tyres,interior woodwork is original and sleeps two adults. seats, cushions rear side cards an door cards all in blue and grey by spirit of the fifties,there are curtains to match orange cushions but have not been put up. bodywork on jc is very good there is no rot in this van what so ever but being truthfull there is a slight chip to the paint on the tailgate and top of the barn doors but this is a basic two pack coloured van and could be repaired very easily all windows were removed for respray and all new window and door rubbers fitted,interior headlinning is very gud no rips tears or dirty marks.. i am selling as i have a T4 and jc doesnt get used as much as it should it is dry stored and never goes out in the wet, having said that engine is new an very strong and wouldnt have a problem jumping in it and driving it anywhere!!! ….Welcome to a very reluctant sale of our original 1969 South African VW Split Screen campervan. It has an original style interior with a few modern additions for practicality. Camper went through full restoration 5 years ago under previous owner (including new engine in 2010) who hired the van out for touring around the Lake District. Since then it has also had a full domestic rewire to modern spec (all details of restoration available). Camper is Road Tax exempt Camper is a Westfalia conversion and perfect for family use. I have had three additional seat belts installed for child seats. It comes complete with full camping gear including an Outwell Awning (RRP £400) which is only a year old and in perfect condition. (See photos) Also has rag top roof- perfect for summer holidays. Interior includes sink, pumped cold water, fridge, cupboard, rock n roll bed, electric hook up, leisure battery, CD player with I pod connection and speakers including boot speakers. Also had an inverter fitted last year to convert to 240v. The van has been used for weddings throughout the summer for the last 2 years and has provided a very welcome additional income (weddings are normally £250 – £350). Also used for family holidays with the kids – Cornwall and Devon last year without any problems. The camper has been 100% reliable and is stunning inside and out. We have recently had a third child and decided to buy a new house so have been forced to sell. The family love this Camper and will be a very tearful goodbye. But the house has to come first!
