1974 Brazilian White VW Split Screen Camper Van Base. Project.

….For sale is a 1974 Brazilian VW Split Screen Kombi, recently imported, Duty Paid and NOVA cleared. Needs registering with DVLA.MOT exempt as it’s over 40 years old.Tax ExemptOnce registered with DVLA you can have the UK plates made up and once registered for tax exemption and MOT exemption applied for, she is ready to be driven on the roadThe following is a thoroughly honest description warts and all… The upstairs is sound enough, but underneath the vehicle needs attention with a couple of outriggers need to be replaced, and a fair bit of welding/replacing on the beams. Although easily driveable, this would need to be done to be considered legally roadworthy. The front left arch is just beginning to rust underneath and it would be a good idea to replace this while you are doing work on the vanThe cargo floor looks bad from beneath but is pretty solid in the cabin, the engine starts first time, runs well and brakes, gears etc are fine. I have an EMPI quick shift which I will try and get round to fitting, and that reportedly reduces gear travel by up to 40%.There are a couple of small sections just behind the front and rear bumpers which have been removed for some reason, but they are not overly obvious.Electrics-headlights and rear lights fine. Indicator could probably do with a new switch. Wipers dont work (havent got round to checking fuses yet so could be as simple as that) but it might be the motor.Seating-Decent seating in the cab, but one side of drivers cusion is a bit flat with stuffing coming out. The bench seat in the photos is in good condition but sadly is not included in the sale (promised elsewhere as condition of other sale at the moment). It’s a blank canvas so ready to fit out for camper interior if you wish. This is a decent project bus but it is definitely a project as the chassis welding is going to be about £1000-1500 at a guess.I have aload of photos so please email or whatsapp for more. There is video on you tube…https://youtu.be/su3k5ceMuQQhttps://youtu.be/42mrzNIRybkhttps://youtu.be/fJVRGbeqOlEhttps://youtu.be/gInmmJidZuchttps://youtu.be/UoDI9c3tHsc https://youtu.be/rcOvnEeRmPUParts required as far as I can tell. Main chassis beam patch. http://alanhschofield.com/ourparts/prod_5852350-Inner-Front-Chassis-Leg-Right-5567-211703312A.html. £95Front Centre Section £30Top Hat Section £30Outriggers x 2 £15 eachCargo floor left and right sides (not essential, but looks a mess from underneath) £300Indicator switch Horn button Fuel Gauge (its there, but very misty so could be renovated)Door handle, Inner (There is one which is loose, and can be used to open both sides until second one bought and fixed on). Some window latches. We bought this bus as were already importing one Splittie and by including another it made the shipping more economical. We have considered doing this one up but having two projects on the go would be just too muchIf you are after a Splittie to have some fun with then this could well be for you. Once you have got the welding sorted you are pretty much up and running without too much work to get her on the road for the summer, and then there’s alot of fun to be had here:) To be honest she is never going to be a show stopper due to the fact thet the repairs done over the years have been functional to get her back in the road as a working van, but if you have always fancied an affordable splitty to have some fun with this is defo worth a look. However, it might be worth popping down the pub and getting the name of a good welder before you come and look, or better still bring them with you…We are about 5 miles East of Bath.£7,000 is a good and fair price (they just arent cheap!) and the welding has been factored in. I’m not in a hurry to sell as I really like the van and quite fancy the project long term, hence the buy it now price.I’m certainly no expert so wont be able to field technical questions, but I should be able to find out for you so please fire away (text preferred…)Mobile: 07916411822

1963 VW Split Screen Camper RHD Subaru WRX Turbo – Brutally Fast – “Arabella”

….Sadly the time has come to sell my beloved Arabella. I have owned Aston’s, Lamborgini’s, Porsche’s and so on and I can tell you NOTHING gets adoring looks and requests for pictures like this bus does – it is simply a crowd puller. At Le Mans a few years back Arabella was parked next to a £20m DB4 GT Zagato, a 250 GT Ferrari and some other mega-exotics yet EVERYONE walking past stopped to look at Arabella and had their picture next to her. She is very special indeed. To give you a feel for this beautiful piece of art, she has Porsche brakes all round, Porsche wheels, it’s been lowered and has great handling, it has a sports exhaust, the interior is all by MadMatz. It has a retro looking digital radio with Bluetooth, USB sockets, power sockets, heating, it has a compact lift-out sink and cooker unit (which creates a significant amount of space when not in the bus), beats most modern sports cars away from the traffic lights (!!), sounds amazing with the Subaru WRX Boxer engine – but not overly dissimilar to the air cooled Volkswagen engine of its origin. The paint is in gleaming candy apple metallic with pearlescent white accents And the interior is ‘black cherry’ (dark/deep burgundy) leatherette in the front bench seat with complementing tweed in the back and seagrass matting, tailor fitted throughout on the floor. In the back there is a full width rock ‘n’ roll bed with a quality memory foam mattress (not the normal car washing sponge type rubbish), a huge space in the boot, and to make it even more practical, a detachable towbar has been fitted for those who wish to pull a trailer with all of the camping paraphernalia behind rather than filling the beautiful interior up with camping gear (see pic with trailer attached). The engine was completely rebuilt last year and serviced as were the brakes by one of Europe’s premier Volkswagen Camper/Subaru specialists Near Birmingham, ‘Fellows Speed Shop’, costing ££thousands. It has traveled less than 380 miles since and spends its life dry-garaged. It was delivered new 1963 to a well-known explorer in the United States who wanted it built as right-hand drive, as it still is today, so that he could tour Africa in it and, his tour forms part of the documented history of this bus as well as the original bill of sale and numerous original documents within a lever arch file. It has also been in a magazine, and was a star podium bus at the largest Volkswagen show in Europe two years ago, Volksworld. Sadly the original owner passed away in a kayaking accident several years ago and it has changed hands just a couple of times since, during which time it has had fortunes thrown at it. I bought it several years ago when my youngest son was only seven years old and had the van completely renovated inside with a view to taking both my children camping but as the old adage goes, ‘they grow so quickly’. My eldest son is now 13 and getting close to 6ft tall and less into camping with dad. As is often with these buses, being completely open, honest and ‘super-critical’, there are one or two very small tucked-away patches bubbling which could easily be dealt with but nothing major at all – the underneath (often an Achilles heel on these) is totally solid and has been reinforced to take the extra power. There is an engine lid hinge which does need some attention – but that’s about it; I’m at that point where I could spend a few hundred pounds just to bring it back up to cosmetic perfection or let someone else get hugely excited about it as did I and really get some fabulous use out of it now that mechanically it really is great. This is probably one of the few genuine RHD ones like it in the entire world (certainly one of the quickest and the certainly amongst the coolest!) especially with such a low ownership and a huge and very interesting history file. I’m in no hurry at all to sell as I would like Arabella to go to a good home and obviously for the right money. If you are interested and have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me, I would welcome any inspections at all – although if it’s raining I don’t let Arabella out of her garage!

1963 Volswagen T1 Split Screen 9 Seater Micro Bus, Not Bay Window, Patina, Ratty

….For sale. One very cool looking 1963 Volkswagen T1 Split Screen 15 Window 9 Seater Bus that has just been imported from Florida. I bought this T1 bus from a classic car auction and this is how the description read. 15 window bus with rat rod look. This was recently built to be used as a surf shop mobile display billboard then as a store display in downtown Disney ( Disney Springs fl ) It started with a bus that came out of a collection in Vermont where it had been stored for the past 20 years. When the bus came out of storage it was sandblasted in and out. The outside was then acid washed to give this unique patina look. The inside was prepped, primed and painted in satin black a wood effect floor was fitted then it had brand new red and black seats and panels fitted. The bus is lowered by 4 inches and is fitted with a new set of period replica alloy wheels and tyres. It has a 1776cc engine it has also had a lot of other new parts fitted like rear brake drums, new fuel lines, new shocks etc.Just to answer questions before people ask. No it is not a trailer queen or show room quality. It does have rust but that is the way they intended to build it so it is suppose to look this way. You either love it or hate it but I personally think it is really eye-catching The price is £17,995 If you need to know anything give me a call on 07971 280143 as I can tell you more about the car in a 2 minute conversation then I can in several messages This Split Screen Bus is all U.K registered and on the road ready to use. Please remember it is 55 years young and far from perfect but looks really cool Classic cars are like money in the bank at the moment if you look after them they are going up in value every year. If you need to know anything please give me a call on 07971 280143 (Mark). We can also help with transportation and shipping throughout the UK and Worldwide
