The camper (Daisy) is much loved and only being sold due to an expanding family. We have taken her on many trips where she has driven for 7+ hours in some traffic and we have never had any problems with her. She has recently said through her MOT which is valid until May 2011. She has a 1.8 air cooled engine, she runs beautifully, she starts first time every time. She has had new fuel lines fitted Internally she has had a referb with brand new curtains for all weathers (with thermal lining to keep sunlight out, heat in/out in summer/winter), a re covered rock and roll bed (with the addition of a memory foam topper) new door panels and a rewire by previous owner. CD player and radio included. Inside she has an original Westfalia fit out including over bed storage (ideal for clothes) and 2 built in kitchen units one with a built in cooking area and cool box and the second with 2 food storage areas and sink with tap. 12volt hook up compatibility, Front cab has all new carpets and new seat covers – however could do with a new dash for cosmetic reasons The back storage area had been cut in half by a previous owner which we have refurbished into extra storage Drive away awning to be included in the sale. ….Bright yellow VW Camper van. 1978 Type 2 T2 Bay window. With 11 months MOT. It has been kept as original as possible, still has the vintage 1970′s brown vinyl seats in the front and the original roof lining in the front cab. It is a bulk head camper – so the front cab is separate to the back where you sit / sleep / cook. There is a sliding window through to the driver. Has only done 16,875 miles on it’s reconditioned engine and drives very well, it drives fine on the motorway – will sit happily at 70mph or can go faster, has never let me down. It has a half lenth pop top so you can stand up and do your cooking. It has a sink, fridge freezer and 2 hobs, also a table which can be disassembled easily and fits in a top cupboard. There are plenty of cupboards for storage, and large chest spaces under the sofa. It has a double sized rock and roll bed which is very comfortable and coverts into a sofa easily. When it is in sofa position you can arrange the cushions for extra seats around the side. The back windows are double glazed for insulation and warmth in the colder months of the year and the curtains are nice thick quality and go all the way around. It is a left hand drive – originally kept in the South of France. It has aged fairly well because it has been in a warmer climate for much of it’s life. I got used to driving on the left side very quickly – it’s not as difficult as you might think. There is an awning which can be attached to sleep more of your friends. I am sadly selling it because I no longer have garage space to keep it. As you can see in the pictures the bodywork is generally very good, the paintwork on the door has peeled a bit and there is a small area on the back bumper / corner which could be seen to and resprayed to make it look more immaculate – I have shown these two areas on the photos. ….I am extremely reluctantly selling my VW bay window which the family call Margot. We have had her for about two years having bought her originally from eBay too. Sinc owning her we have travelled with our two young daughters all over the UK with trips to East Anglia, The Lakes, Wales and Bristol. We have done this without a single mechanical issue, which is good as I know nothing about mechanics. The van is really sound, we have spent over £2000 on her over winter. This was mainly welding work on the underside of the van. Her front facing panel has bee replaced there by removing all trace of rust from the front. It was my intention to have the door skins done next. Family circumstances force me to sell, but as soon as I have some cash again I will definately buy a new one! They are absolutely brilliant fun. Here a the list… Bad bits:- One or two imperfections in the body work mostly the door skins on the front and rear. – Interior needs a dose of looking at. I think recover the seats and paint the dash. I have two replacement seats that I was saving up the money to have proffessionally covered you can have. – The bike rack has a broken arm, but this is not necessary to carry bikes just use an extra bungee. – Needs a new fuel sender as the petrol gauge always reads empty. – Some kind person reversed into me and left the rear bumper bent but it could be straigtened so is not irrepairable.Good bits:- Refurbished type 2 engine that starts on the button every time- New tyres – New door seals – New windscreen and wipers (the previous screen was scratched) – Separate 12v leisure circuit for lights and radio etc- 240v hook-up Comes with:- Awning easily erected and contains internal bedroom – Separate Gas BBQ – Full set of cutlery and plates. – Petrol can full of fuel but never used – Ramps for parking on slopes – Separate Picnic table – Integral bike rack for 2 bikes (we have squeezed 3 on) – 11 months MOT – heaps of documentation from its service history.There are some bits that are still rough around the edges depending on how much of a perfectionist you are – but all in all a really good van. ….November 1971 crossover model VW baywindow campervan, converted by Westfalia in 1972, it is a left hand drive California import, been in the UK for just over two years. 75% original paint in off white, very solid van Very nice original interior in good condition, couple of small tears in material but is it nearly 40 years old!! It sleeps 4 – (kids hammock in front, a roof bunk and double seat bed) sink and fridge, new front seat covers and door cards to match (cards not yet fitted), original stool, has buddy seat that bolts in to seat three in front with a seat belt, fully seat belted front and all seats in rear, new window rubbers – some fitted, some not New pop top canvas fitted.
