This is a completely solid rust free import its never seen a welder in its life underbody is mint still has white paint. Fully waxoiled to protect from rust in uk. the external body is in its original vw white as it came out the factory. Due to the climate its lived in all its life the paint is burnt very thin showing now tint transparent areas. personally i love it to bits as it is original but is a perfect base if you wanted to have her painted and make a real stunner. since its been imported the van has had an original 1971 danbury interior fitted in perfect working order with sink and gas cooker. in the roof is massive storage space lots of cupboards. ….VW Type 2 Original Ambulance 1972. Came from Germany to the UK after being dry stored for 18 years. Chassis code starts 272 which stands for Type 2 ambulance manufactured in 1972. Ultra rare Volkswagen from Germany Completely original interior; 2 stretchers (1 folds completely away) wheelchair buddy seat folding chair full factory bulkhead with sliding window factory frosted glass air conditioning unit eberspacher (heater) factory sliding step on side loading door. Exterior; All original sirens blue flashing light cyclops flashing light rear amber hazard lights factory towbar original sign writing (roughly translates to Maltese Emergency Vehicle). Subtly lowered with rear adjustable spring plates and an adjustable front beam. Sat on a matching set of 5 detailed period NSU alloys with porsche stud adaptors. ….WELCOME TO THE AUCTION OF MY TRULY BEAUTIFUL VOLKSWAGEN LAST OF LINE BAY WINDOW SILVERFISH. PLEASE READ FIRST!!! If you have an EBAY feedback score less than 10, please don’t bid on my van until you have got in contact with me first. This is sadly due to people not understanding the rules of EBAY. Genuine people interested will understand. This bus will now be on show and for sale at VANFEST in MALVERN this coming weekend. I will now try and describe my van in as much detail as possible but if for some reason I have missed anything, please get in contact with me regarding any questions you may have. Ideally I’m looking for a straight sale of the van however if you have a vehicle that you would be wanting to put against my van I will certainly give it some thought with a view to selling it on to make up the cash difference so let me know what you have??. This van is in amazing condition for its age and HAS NOT! had a full restoration!. The only bodywork that has been done was to the rear arches and lower part of the the sliding door as there was a tiny bit of rust but nothing major. To make sure the paint work matched I had both sides painted below the windows so as you can see the van’s bodywork is fantastic. A bit about the SILVERFISH….. This IS! easily one of the rarest Volkswagen Campers you will find available today, please check May’s edition of VOLKSWORLD CAMPER & BUS for the front page and full feature. This Deluxe was produced as a special Limited Edition for the last model year of the Bay window, or T2, 1978-9. Built in 1979 as a special commemorative model, it features a very distinctive specification and was one of only 1,600 “Silberfisch”, as the model was known as in Germany, to be built. Of that original 1600 only 20 or so are known to survive, and none are in such beautiful condition as mine. This particular bus has some totally unique features, as it was also a customer-ordered version of this special model and had a complete WESTFALIA interior fitted at new!. All of the SILVERFISH were based on a DELUXE microbus with a marine blue interior and star silver paintwork however this was not what the first owner wanted so he had the van fitted with a camping interior making this an even rarer model and certainly a worth wile future investment. Trying to find information on these vehicles is like looking for hens teeth but luckily the nice people at VW in Germany were able to confirm in writing that it was indeed a genuine SILVERFISH using the chassis and engine numbers. This has all been put in writing and I have all the certificates to prove and just to add I am the first UK owner. Exterior The exterior of the van is in beautiful condition and it is a credit to its previous German owner. It really is hard to believe that the van is the age that it is and that it hasn’t had a full re-furb. This is due to it living in a barn for the last 13 or so years prior to me finding it and it was also under cover hence the condition. There is no sign of rot or rust or anything worth worrying about and i have had the paintwork machine polished so there are no scratches whatsoever. The only real mark noticeable would be on the rear bumper as there is a slight bend in it but this has never bothered me and to be honest if I hadn’t of mentioned it chances are you would of missed it however I would rather be upfront. INTERIOR The interior is in the same kind of condition as the exterior…border line immaculate for its year and I’m sure you can tell from the pictures. The van can sleep 4 possibly 5 at a push as it has a full width rock n roll bed in the rear and a hammock in the front. There is a fully working fridge/sink/wardrobe/removable table/storage & toilet. One of the best features about this bus is that it has a full panoramic sunroof and without sounding too soft there is nothing better than closing all the curtains, opening the roof and looking up at the stars. ENGINE/GEARBOX The engine has only covered 65’000 miles and runs perfect. It is the type 4 2.0 engine with twin DELLORTO carbs so there is loads of low end power all the way through the gears and the van will sit happily all day long at 70-80 mph. The gearbox is also perfect, gear change is tight and silky smooth and the clutch is also perfect. The van starts first time every time and has never once let me down. The van has just also had a full service inc dizzy cap & rota arm/timing adjusted/gaskets and the tappets adjusted so everything is ready to go!. Everything else… The tyres are as good as brand new and underneath the van has been fully wax oiled so everything is like new!, The windows have been treated to new rubbers all round. The van drives as well as it looks and is a true pleasure to drive, everyone stairs or stops me to talk about it due to its condition and I’m confident that you will not find a nicer bus alike. Everything in the van is standard and untouched from the stereo to the unopened first aid box, there’s even a period 1970′s coffee mug/warmer that has never been used!. The only issue that I can find with the bus is that one of the heat exchangers has a slight leak but I’m sure this could be welded by a garage or someone with the no how and that’s really it!. The only reason why I’m selling the van is because its just not getting the use it deserves and I’m now looking to invest the money into a business project so the van is being sold with NO RESERVE!. The van has been independently valued by two professionals at £25’000 due to its rarity and investment potential but I’m looking for a quick sale so serious offers over £16’000 are welcomed.
