Stunning T2 VW Camper 1972, Restored Westfalia Interior

….Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE Welcome to the auction for my much loved VW Camper Van. A brief history: I have owned her for the past three years. During this time I have had her restored by a local specialist body shop and she has had a full re-spray last autumn. The 1.6 litre original air cooled engine was reconditioned by another specialist shortly after I bought her and has run smoothly ever since. She sailed through the MOT last week with only one advisory. The Interior: For the past three months I have been restoring a Westfalia interior. The wardrobe and sink are originals. The rock and roll bed has the original Westfalia brackets but it and the buddy seat were handmade by me, with the originals used as templates. All of the visible surfaces have been re-veneered in a real oak veneer, which has then been coated three times in a contact grade furniture varnish to ensure maximum protection. I have not installed handles as I thought the design of handles is a personal choice and can make or break an interior, but I am more than happy to fit them for you if you would rather me do it before you pick it up. Before collection, I will put doors on the sink unit and varnish it, as well as re-covering the rear cushion for the rock and roll bed and the buddy seat in the matching blue check Laura Ashley fabric. I will also be installing a varnished wooden headlining that covers the whole of the underside of the roof. Only a few minor personal touches still need to be added. I chose not to cover the cab front seats and door cards because I thought this was a matter for individual taste. There’s a working CD player but no speakers. Fancy setting up your own business? I am also including in the auction two domains I own (website addresses) www.volkswagenwedding.co.uk and www.volkswagenwedding.com There are a number of people now offering their campers for wedding hire. It’s a great way to make money (you can earn £300+ per day) and lots of fun. See photos for a wedding and prom that I did last year. See www.volkswagenweddings.co.uk for an example of how similar named company does this professionally. Why I’m selling…. You may wonder why I’m selling her. Last weekend she stood pride of place while I proposed to my girlfriend, now fiancée, the weekend before last. We now have a wedding to plan so my time and money is being called upon hence the sale. I will be more than happy to answer any questions anyone may have and you are very welcome to come and view her, which I would recommend. Thank you for looking! Tom 07771912034 I reserve the right to end the auction early, as this vehicle is advertised elsewhere.

1971 Type 2 T2 Bay Window Volkswagen VW Camper van

….My beloved 1971 Type 2 Bay is up for sale. I have owned this van for 13 years and to be honest I never ever thought I would see the day when I would sell her. Consequently; during my ownership, everything that has been done to her has always been to the highest possible standard and I have even kept the receipts for every last oil filter, indicator bulb & spark plug etc to prove it! However, the space required for two very small children means that a second bed is now needed and since there is no way that I am going to violate this lovely original old van by installing a pop-top, she unfortunately has to go. During 2003/2004 she was the subject of an extensive professional restoration which included:• Replacement of all four wheel arches• Replacement of both cab doors (including all seals/window lifters etc) with rust free VW parts imported from California• Replacement of Tailgate & Engine lid cover again with rust free original VW items• Replacement of inner and outer sills• Replacement of numerous under-body parts – Jacking points, outriggers etc.• Replacement of all Window and door seals• Full re-spray I have photos of all this work in progress so you can see that metal has been replaced with metal, not filler. All photos etc are in the two box-files full of receipts (totalling around £7000) which will be included with the sale. Other features/modifications include: • Reconditioned Vege 1600cc Engine fitted in 2000 (Runs beautifully, idles great, uses no oil)• Eberspacher D1LC Diesel Night Heater, runs totally independently from the engine and can safely be left running all night so no condensation (have a look at the price these go for on ebay)• Brand new Boch Starter Motor fitted in 2006 (She starts first time, every time regardless of the weather)• Front Axle Beam replaced 2006• All brakes upgraded with new disks/callipers/lines etc 2006• Tax Exempt• Four new CV Joints fitted 2008• Bespoke home-made interior designed to suit two people living in comfort for a week or two at a time – or two people and one child away for a long weekend.• Full width Rock and Roll Bed• Full set of professionally made lined curtains and matching seat covers (these alone cost me over £550, receipt included)• Dynamo replaced with heavy duty 90amp Alternator using Just Kampers bundle kit • Mains hook-up and split charging system through a Zig CF9 system + Zig switchable battery monitors to show exactly what power you have left in each battery • Flavel Vanessa dual hob and grill• Child’s cot/hammock which fits above the driver’s and passenger seats.• She is currently running very well on a Solex carb, but I will include TWO Weber carbs in the sale should you wish to change.• Underside has been Waxoil sprayed yearly during the past 12 years of my ownership. THE BAD POINTS – PLEASE READ VERY CAREFULLY BEFORE BIDDING Whilst this van is structurally sound mechanically and underneath, the quality of the paint job is poor and as a result there is a large amount of bodywork rust, particularly around the wheel arches. During my 2003 restoration I was forced to replace the wheel arches with sub-standard patterned parts due to the unavailability of genuine VW items at that time. These have not stood up well to age. (Genuine replacement VW wheel arches have since become available). Due to the space and financial constraints of a young family, this van has been on a SORN for the past two years and as such the rust situation has only become worse. She does not have an MOT and would not pass one in her current state. However, with some decent quality wheel arches, a bit of welding and a new coat of paint, she could be returned to her former glory. But, make no mistake, she is not a van in which you disappear off camping this weekend. She has no MOT and will need to be trailered away (although she can be seen running and even driven off the public road). The headlining is torn and will need replacing. There is also a large dent in the front panel where someone reversed into her while she was parked up at a festival. This is cosmetic, but annoying and will need attending to. There is no leisure battery fitted, but all the wiring is there just to slot one in. Oh, and the fuel gauge doesn’t work – I keep a little black book in the glove box and record the mileage every time I fill her up. I will include this book so that the successful bidder can see that over the past few years her mileage has been steady but low and also where she has been! N.B. The interior is not currently fitted into the van as I have it in dry storage in my house (I just included the photos so that you can see what it looks like when it is all fitted, but there didn’t seem any point in re-installing it just for it to have to be taken out again in order for any bodywork to take place). However it is all included in the sale and I will happily re-fit it if requested by the successful bidder. I have been offered a lot of money for the component parts of this van – in particular the engine, front axle beam, doors and the heater, but she means a lot to me and I would rather see her go to someone who will get her back on the road, hopefully for the next 40 years of her life. That said, I also know what she is worth now and what she will be worth when she is back on the road, particularly as an early and more desirable “tin-top” example. Realistically, you are never going to lose money on a van like this. I have loads more photos available. If you are a serious bidder please contact me with any questions or queries and I will answer them for you. As she is being ‘sold as seen’ I would also seriously recommend that you view the van before bidding. She is at Bassenthwaite in Cumbria and viewings can easily be arranged to suit you. £250 deposit is to be paid by Paypal immediatly on the conclusion of the auction, with the full balance being paid in cash on collection of the van.

VW Camper Bay Window 1978 Panel Van – Exellent condition!

….Exellent condition and very reliable! 1978 VW Bay Window, 1600 Engine. This van is a panel style with one privacy window behind drivers seat. Can currently seat 4, it’s great as it is or lots of potential to be converted. It is currently empty in the back but we do have 2 seats that come with the van and are included in the sale, they can be fitted prior to collection. This is a really lovely van, a very enjoyable drive and this is a very reluctant sale but due to a baby on the way we sadly have to let it go to a new home. My husband has done a lot of work on this van, we can supply photos of the refurb etc if required. It had a total respray in 2010, two new cab doors, new seals on all doors, windows and enigine bay, new starter motor, seats have been re-covered. We had the locks rebuilt by Robin in the VW Lock Shop at Custom & Commercial so they all work from the same key as the ignition except the engine bay. Lots and lots of other bits and pieces were either tidied up or replaced, parts came from VW Heritage, Just Kampers and Custom & Commercial etc. We had a brilliant trip to the South of France last summer and the roof rack was bought new for the trip, it is not included in the sale price but is for sale so please ask if you’re interested buying it along with the van. We got it from Creative Engineering who made it to order as we really wanted a 6 bow and they are very hard to come by. Taxed for 6 months from May, MOT is due end of June but if necessary we could arrange for MOT to be done prior to collection. Payment details, collection/delivery etc etc can all be discussed. Only genuine buyers to contact please. Please email or call 07825 829339 for further details or to arrange to a viewing.

Volkswagen LT 35 VW 2.4 Diesel Camper Van, Motorhome, Westfalia Spec

….This is our VW LT35 Campervan Standard UK Right Hand Drive. We imported the van to the UK from Germany in 2010 and have had the van on the road for about a year and a half. The van is a standard UK Spec van that was professionally converted to a campervan. There is story as to how it ended up being in Germany. We bought the van from my brother in law’s father who had owned the van from new in 1994. He was a manager at the Volkswagen Wolfsburg factory in Germany where the van was made. Originally the van was destined to be a panel van for the UK but it was scratched whilst in transit on the ferry to the UK. So it was then returned to the Wolfsburg factory, where my brother in law’s father bought it for a reduced price, due to the scratch and a right hand drive in Germany. His brother also worked at the Wolfsburg factory in the area converting vans to campervans. His brother then proceeded to convert the van to a campervan, by fitting a high top roof and furnishing the whole inside with an original VW interior. All the interior that you see is original VW parts. If you see original LT Florida vans they have the same interior, but in a different layout. As this is a long wheel base van, it will be the only professionally converted one as the Florida vans were all the short wheel base. My brother in law’s father then kept the van for use by his family for the next 16 years before selling it on to us, in this time he looked after the van and even in 2004 had the engine removed and totally overhauled of which there is a picture within the files. In the last few years of his ownership it wasn’t used so much due to their children having grown up. So it then was just sitting on their drive until 2010 when we purchased it and drove it on a 1000 mile trip back to the UK. Since we bought her we have had her registered on UK number plates, which wasn’t awkward as she is originally a UK van. Since registering her we have enjoyed using her for trips out into the lake district and for wild camping over the border in Scotland. We have had a great time in her, but due to the purchase of a new house we just wont have the time for her anymore. So it’s better she finds a new owner rather than sitting on our drive unused. The van has required very little mechanical work done on it to keep her passing through her MOTs. The exterior of the van has some rust in places and the odd few marks but nothing more than you would expect for a van of this age, although underneath she is as solid as a rock, typical of VW’s build quality. The van is designed as a 4 sleeper, primarily 2 adults and 2 children as the downstairs bed is a little bit short for adults unless you sleep diagnally. The front seats can be folded forward to give enough room for adults but it isnt really designed that way. We have slept 4 adults though, so it can be done. The bed upstairs is a full size double bed and it is very comfy. The downstairs bed is made up by lowering the table and folding out the seat cushions. Now a rundown of whats inside and included. I want to be as honest as possible so here are the problems that she has. Due to a leak from a skylight in the bathroom area when she was unused in Germany there is some damage to the bottom of the door surround leading into the bathroom. Also 2 of the bathroom cupboard door surrounds are a bit swollen due to being wet at one point, but are still perfectly useable. The leak from the bathroom skylight has been repaired and the inside of the van is totally dry inside now. The skylight in the main area has a crack in it that has been sealed with tape to prevent leaks. The blinds that cover the windows are sometimes quite awkward to use as they jam or dont lock into place. There is also a very small burn on the drivers seat. This was on the van when we got it but the van has never been smoked in by us or previous owner so not sure how it got there. There is spare seat material that comes with the van that is the same pattern that I managed to get hold of that can be used to repair the burn but we never got around to it. All in all it is a really good van and we will be sad to see it go but unfortunatly we must.It has plenty of storage space and really gives you plenty of space inside unlike smaller vans. It drives great and starts every time. She comes with 12 months MOT and 6 Months Tax so she really is just ready to go. If anyone has any questions, would like more pictures or to arrange a viewing then please just send me a message via Ebay and I will do my best to accomodate. Happy Bidding
