Beeps, flashes waves – you just have to get used to it & everyones got a smile for you. This is a ‘DEVON 21′, an anniversary edition of the Eurovette by Devon conversions, built to celebrate both Devon Conversions 21st anniversary & the Queens Silver Jubilee. Only 50 of these were ever made & a handful exist today in original condition. This special Edition is featured in a Book by David Eccles called ‘VW Camper – The inside story’ In Export Oceanic Blue & White with colour coded interior, this is totally original with the exception of the fabric which has been matched to our best abilities! It has the original Lino flooring (kept covered with carpet – so as new underneath) fridge, sink that looks like it is brand new, cooker, Original front seats in immaculate condition 9premium black plastic leatherette), Padded black vinyl door linings, superior roof lining, fantastic original stripy blue pop top with no rips or tears. Spare wheel inside rear boot area, with premium original black hard plastic cover (this was its design from new) 2kw Gas Central Heating installed under rear seat & controlled by thermostat (cosy!) Has the luxury of having a clock, which was a premium option with this edition Professional full respray in original colour done last year, so looks amazing! When this was done all new rubber seals were fitted to the doors & windows. Have all the original handbooks, paperwork & only has a genuine 83’000 miles on the clock…!!! Just had Brand New heated front windscreen fitted, although as yet the wiring has not been connected. Brand new Bosch Silver Battery just fitted ( last one only just gave out a month ago after 7 years!) New SACHS Clutch fitted by VW Maindealer (Portsmouth) We have just had replacement ‘DEVON 21′ decals made which are not shown in the photos but they are positioned on the front on each side just under the wing mirrors. Whilst we have enjoyed this camper for family day trips & holidays we have always looked after it & if bought by a real enthuiast or collector it could be made into show standard. ….Project VW Camper Van 1980 Devon Bay Window – This is actually belongs to my sister and her boyfriend who purchased it almost 4 years ago, but due to lack of space, funds and them currently living in Canada it’s time to be moved on so someone can finish and enjoy her. The van itself has had thousands spent already, this includes new inner and outer sills, front panel to window, rear wheel arches, rear corners, both complete front wheel arches, new guttering all around. It’s also got 2 new cab doors and the window frames have been replaced; all new door and windows seals were purchased before re-installing these items. The van also has new front indicator units and new rear lens covers and new door mirrors, also has a new battery that was fitted last year. The above work alone comes to more than the asking price! And as you can see a large percentage of new panels have been fitted already. The camper starts and drives, but as none of the interior is present I wouldn’t recommend it lol The new doors need re-fitting as the new style hinges don’t line up100% with the previous type; this is something I’m working on at the moment and hope to have done before the new owner takes her on. The camper is fitted with a 2.0ltr engine, but the exhaust does need some work, the steering rack also has some play which is very common; I have no idea if this requires a new box or whether the existing one can still be adjusted. Although having had a recent re-spray (2 years ago) it still requires a little attention, since then it’s spent most of its time under a custom cover and unfortunately a few small area are showing signs of surface rust; these are not major and simply require a sand down a re-paint; these are not “cut out and re-weld” types of rust. A few areas have also worn through to the primer where the wind has caught the cover and rubbed. It could also do with a really good polish as this has never been done; the colour is off-white rather than a brilliant / diamond white which really suits this type of vehicle. None of the interior has been fitted or re-upholstered so the new owner can do this to their own taste and specification, it is available and will come with the camper though; it could be used as is for a very tempory fix, but does need attention. I will upload some pictures of it very shortly, but if you have any questions please feel free to PM me. Please note this is a project so still requires an amount of work to be done before it can be driven (legally) and because of this, it will need to be trailered away. Viewing to potential buyers is highly recommended, I know absolutely nothing about these vehicles and would rather someone came and saw before committing to buying; that way you know exactly what has to be done, that said I have been as honest as possible with the description and pictures. I’m not trying to disappoint viewers or waste anyone’s time so please ask for specific pictures if it helps.
