….This auction is for my vw split screen camper its a 1964 lhd sundial convertion it was imported last year by a guy in kent the van is standard and as loads of original features the interior needs tidying and the rear part of the wardrobe is missing but a good clean and it can be used the van drives as it shud and i drove it 200 miles home when i got it in november the log book shows only two owners from 1964 the van has not been underseal so you can see what your getting not just a load of black gunk to cover any rotten bits like most of these its taxed and mot till may 2012 so you can drive it home the only repair i can see is a plate on one of the side doors the rest of the body is sound but as with all buses of this age its not perfect thanks for looking

….Here for sale is my 2011/2012 Winter restoration project all functioning and 99% complete. This project has drawn allot of blood from my fists and £££ from my wallet to get it road worthy and it was well worth it! I will start with the bits I have left unfinished. Nothing that compromises the functionality of the car. I have run out of budget for this one and I need to plan my summer restoration. Also these are the final fun bits to do, now all the hard work is done, and makes for a nice bit of personal customisation for the new owner. -Glove box needs fitting (preferably a new one) + CD player, speakers not included. -Windscreen Motor needs fitting if required. I dont drive it during the Rain and Is garaged and kept dry. -Door cards and carpets required (about £80 for both) -Inside roof lining. Very nice crushed velvet can be glued in for under £20. -Paint work currently in Basecoat. Body is Glossy and Panels matt Black. Will need finishing to make completely glossy which I will do if my asking price is met next weekend. I have warmed to the Dark attitude it has taken in the state it is in. Driver door needs a good man slam to close. Now the best Bits…. This is a 1974 1300 beetle with a 1600 Dual Port engine (50bhp) (V5 included and engine conversion stated) NO RUST AT ALL, Solid & Ready to Drive, Starts first time. Excellent compression. This has had a 6 inch roof chop done properly so no funny angles or odd looks. Also fitted with a split rear screen and Pre 57 Panels. This is a German styled and stanced beetle with loads more potential. Has the Cal look engine stand offs on in the pictures. They can be removed. She has had allot of welding and new parts in the last 2 months to bring her back to life. 2 New heater channels, 2 new floor pans painted in VW Tornado Red, Complete shell off, chassis flipped on the side restoration. Loads of welding plates to fill up old holes in the body and all Wing bolts replaced with fix panels and new bolts. Complete underbody has been protected with TetraShutz and looks mint. I have fitted brand new front disc brake kit, brembo disks and brand new calipers, Hoses, Knucles, bearings, Brake fluid and new brake switch. The car has the ORIGINAL cream vynal seats with few rips and tears but completely sterilised and clean. Well kept for 38 years of use. I have fitted new custom rear windows which cost me a fortune, Front furflux, new fuel line re routed safely inside the car, clutch, bearing, engine serviced, dizzy cap, rotor arm, HT Leads, OIL, All the original wiring loom was removed and cleaned up so no more burnt out wires. Front Perspex windscreen. Tyres are all good and only German made. Continental on the Rear and another German brand on the front. Prolite (Aeroplane style wheels) Rears painted and front in original polished aluminium (will need re laquering as its in its original condition with some surface peel). All balanced and cleaned up. Petrol tank, floor pans, Engine back panel all painted in VW Tornado Red. Engine serviced and Gearbox excellent. All this done in the last 2 months with reciepts for parts fitted, so this beetle is ready to be enjoyed this summer. Many other new smaller parts too much to mention and loads of reciepts included along with a CD with over 100 pics I have taken during restoration. Private number plate included with V5. ….selling my vw 1966 split, bit off info for you Firstly, this will likely be the easiest way to tell if you own a Riviera. If your camper has a large picture window on the driver’s side like the first two images, then you have a Riviera! The first image shows the picture window with the unique sliding windows. I haven’t seen these on any other type of camper. The middle image features the jalousie style windows that one can find on Westies and some other campers. The third image looks like a Sundial or EZ Camper, but it is a Riviera! There are a few, not many, Rivieras that were built with this style of window. If you have these windows, you’ll have to read on to determine if you have a Riviera or not. NEW INFO: Apparently Travel Equipment Corp. in Indiana did make their own camper conversions on VW buses and also used a long picture window. You will know which one you have my looking at the interior and also looking for the Travel Equipment Corp. badge on someplace other than the poptop. The TEC conversion interiors have a distinctly different look than the Rivieras do.If you look closely, you’ll see that the roof panels are bordered by a spine and three “ribs” (if you can imagine them like a spine and ribs in the body). All of the panels are held in by a distinct hex-head screw; your Riviera may have had the screws replaced at some point. Don’t be shocked if that’s happened. The color of an original interior is something along the lines of a dark honey wood. The panels are made basically from 1/8″ birch wood. The second picture looks directly up toward the ceiling near the fresh air vent. Notice the detail in the piece that bridges the gap between the spine and the front most set of ribs.There were a couple different color combinations offered for your Riviera. Obviously, over time interiors are replaced and recovered so don’t freak out if your camper features a color other than what’s here. You might have a special model or you might have a previous owner who has taken some artistic liberties with your Riviera. A very rare option when it comes to Rivieras is the pop top. This is currently unconfirmed, but I have heard that the poptop option actually came from Travel Equipment Corp. in Elkhart, Indiana. I know that doesn’t make much sense because the Rivieras were built in the Pacific Northwest, but this is still being researched. The idea is that pop tops were built in Elkhart and then shipped to Riviera Motors in Oregon where it was fitted. Apparently, Travel Equipment Corp. also developed the Sportsmobile line of campers out in their area. The image of the red interior above also gives you a good view of the pop top from the inside. While some Rivieras were outfitted with Sundial style tents which attached using two fixed points along the roof, more Rivieras were built with a tent that utilised a slide rail that is reminiscent of some Westfalia tents.
