….1992 VW camper Holdsworth conversion from new It is the 2.4 non turbo diesel engine with a 5 speed manual gearbox, the best combination to have (without the duel mass clutch, or turbo, or abs and electronic engine management systems etc which all go wrong and cost a fortune to fix) It has done only 27,000 miles from new, it’s been in our family for 6 years and has only 1 previous owner we have all the old Mot’s from that period. The previous owner died and during the process of his family selling/splitting up the will cleaning and out his house etc the history was lost. Some things don’t need a piece of paper to tell you what it is, this is one of those, if you see it you know it is right it is not about some numbers on a clock this is about the total condition through out, and that is of a 22 year old van that has only done 27,000 miles from new If you see this van you know the mileage is right. The engine block is still clean shiny black factory paintThe interior is as new, it still has that new smell.Just the way the door locks clunk is as if it just came out of the factoryHave a look at the cooker and under the grill pics, It has never even cooked a bacon butty. You can’t ever clean them back to this finish, it is as newSurely there is not another one like this, You need to see it, Then it is obvious. We take it for MOT every year and it sails through every time with no advisories ever, then it is parked up till next year …unused.. it is for this reason it is time to sell It is MOT’ed till next summer. The road tax ran out at the end of October 2011 and due to the new laws it is now sorned. We will put 6 months tax on it and a fresh 12 months MOT. This is my mums camper and I set this site up purely to sell this van for her, She doesn’t want the hassle, so I have got it. ….Hello and welcome to the sale of “Skippy” my 1989 1.9 petrol Holdsworth Camper, probably one of the tidiest campers that I have seen at this age – always a pleasure to drive and comes complete with sink, cooker, 3 way fridge, propex gas heater and all the usual camper goodies. Holsdworth Campers were probably one of the best VW Camper Conversions and the permanent hightop is far more user friendly than the pop top campers. Just park up and stand up. Doesnt look conspicuous when you are out in the country and want to park up overnight because you cant find a campsite (it always looks like this). No canvas pop top smole signal!! The speedo reads 169,900 but the previous owner had a replacement engine at 130,000 so its got plenty of go left in it, and I have used it for my daily drive to work so it hasnt been stood for long periods of time like most campervans. It has been kept regardless of cost and it will give someone years of pleasure.. 4 good tyres and a spare, dismantleable cycle rack. I had a new rear tailgate fitted last year after someone dented the last one. Hub caps and beauty rings set off the wheels well just as V.W.s should look. All in all a very good van that you will have lots of enjoyment with.
