….Bought form http://vwkampers.com/ two years ago. She was bought having been restored only a few months earlier and fitted with a reconditioned engine. She is the same as when we bought here, except: 1. An extra 6,000 miles on the engine.2. Fitted curtains (vwcampercurtains.co.uk)3. Tracker (required for insurance). The tracker contract is transferable with five months remaining.4. Some rust below the nearside, rear light5. Some bubbling of paint along the bottom of the passenger side door. The only problems she has had are a cracked distributor cap (now replaced) and was initially unreliable to start, but I fitted a relay. I have a few extras that I am happy to include, which are: 1. Spare radio (purchased by mistake)2. Petronix Ignitor Kit, electronic timing (not fitted yet)3. New alternator, which I bought when someone told me the starting problem (see above) was an alternator issue. ….Vw Campervan, 1977 Baywindow westfalia ( Left Hand Drive) This is a 1977 Bay that I brought last year with the intention of restoring but due to losing my workshop my plans have had to change! It is a straight good shell which is why I brought it, I have lots of paperwork and history with the van. It came into this country on a Q plate from Belgium, the previous owner went to the trouble of verifing the year it was built and it was registered on a R plate (1977) I have all the paper work to confirm this. I have spoken to a previous owner who told me a bit about the van and how it was before he sold it. The guy I bought it from had taken it apart but then lost interest, which is when I brought it as I said its a good solid shell with a good floor in it, the doors could do with either replacing or re-pairing and the tailgate has a hole in the top of it, but alround it is a good shell which wouldn’t take alot to restore by the right person. I keep mentioning its a Vw campervan shell because it has no engine (but it has a gearbox) No windows or interior or pop up roof but all the dashboard is there and drivers seat. Alround it is a great solid project with history and will make a great van just so sad it won’t be myself who finishes it. I have had it dry stored for the last year since I have owned it. ….Up for grabs is my 72 bay window camper. This is a reluctant sale but due to a change in circumstances the old girl has to go.The thing that originally drew me to this camper was the fact it was a UK spec RHD genuine Westfalia with a good floor-pan and in reasonably good original condition. The photographs show the van in unwashed condition; it was just unwrapped and photographed for the advert. It had been stored in a garage for 10 years then it has been outside well wrapped for a couple more until now the decision was made to sell. There is no reserve on this van. As you can see in the pics the amount of spares that will go with the van; there are more spares not presently shown, for example a spare gearbox which is a good’un and not the whiney one currently in the van. The engine is the 1700 version and was serviced just before it was layed up in my ownership. It has not been started in a couple of years but I don’t envision any problems as this is purely nuts and bolts technology. When I bought the van, the bloke said it had a recently reconditioned engine before being layed up. The Westfalia interior is in surprisingly good condition for its age and a little bit of a scrub would bring her back to full spec, apart from the picnic table in which the hinges are broken but the hinges can be replaced easily with genuine ones. The pop top canvas is showing signs of age by being dull and brittle but the mechanism works fine; understandable after all she is 40 years old.There is a pic showing the interior of the pop top roof. Almost too many spares to list but here are some:New drivers door (German)Left and right front archesFront headlight panelOuter, middle and inner cills (for both sides as the existing ones need replacing)Back quarter replacement panelFront strengthening panel (the one that the front bumper bolts to)Battery tray… and some other panels and bits and bobs. There must be well over £1000+ worth of panels and spares alone. Having finished a ‘from the ground up’ nuts and bolts beetle rebuiId, it was time be to let loose with my shiney new welder (burn’t the last one out!). I went a bit overboard with the panels, but I wasn’t taking any chances with parts availability etc. I was in the mindset of going to rebuild this camper to a nice’ish spec so I intended to cut out all rust and replace with patches cut from these panels, hence the amount of panels that have been bought. I had prepared the back quarter and rear wheel arch to be ready for welding, but a change in circumstances at the time prevented me from completing the job. The area will undoubtably need a good clean up before you weld, I just wish I had the presence of mind to take a piccy with the panels in place as well as without the panels because it looks quite good! Other additions include: a Scat shifter (to stop you stirring the porridge when changing gear!!) along with a box of spares i.e. speedo, wiper motor etc etc. Every part I have to do with the type 2 camper will go with this sale, I may also have 2-3 years worth of VolksWorld magazines you can have if I can remember where they are! The van will also come with the extensive history associated with this vehicle including a 1970′s speeding ticket from Morocco!! and the VAG tests, MOT’s and workshop invoices etc I am looking for cash on collection, no swaps. I need the wedge to fund my partner’s new business venture. As you can appreciate the van has been stood for a while, and will not be a weekend project. But you have all of the kit here to turn this into a £13,000-£16,000 van. As I have already said the floor pans are still good with just peeled paint and surface rust underneath, with the odd little hole (as shown in one of the pics of the cab). I would recommend a complete strip down and rebuild to get the most out of this but obviously this is your choice. I have more pictures available, but sadly none of the underneath as of yet; you’ll have to take my word on it not being rotten.
