….**PLEASE NOTE THAT THS IS A PROJECT VEHICLE AND REQUIRES WORK FOR IT TO PASS MOT ** With much regret, I have decided to sell my 1973 (tax exempt) Westfalia Camper Van 1.6 engine with twin carbs. It was purchased in 2010 in quite a state and over the last couple of years, I have paid to have it restored. We are located just south of Bristol – about 10 minutes from Bristol Airport and 10 minutes from M5 Junction 21. I have receipts totalling thousands of pounds for work completed to in the last 18 months. I also have the original Westfalia cabinets including coolbox and rear seat. The pop top roof inside and out is in very good condtion. The MOT ran out this month (May 2012) and unfortunately due to stonger regulations for MOT this year, the van was not likely to pass and I’ve decided that I don’t have enough time to concentrate on the vehicle. The engine does start, but the twin carbs need attention to get it running smoothly. I would say that until the carbs are sorted, this is a non runner. It was last driven in March 2012 for about 30 miles – engine was quite lumpy due to carbs, but otherwise drove fine. I have been told that it will take about 30 hours work to get it through the MOT. Here is a list which my mechanic gave me – there may be more items which he has listed, but this gives you a rough idea. N/S front and rear brake lines insecure O/S front and rear brake lines insecure N/S bottom balljoint gaiter split N/S inner and outer track rod ends gaiters split O/S inner and outer track rod ends have excessive play Steering damper snapped O/S inner and outer C.V boots split N/S inner and outer C.V boots perished…close to spliting clutch and brake pedal rubbers drivers door handle innop fuel leak from carbs play in both rear wheel bearings drivers seat not adjustable excessive play in steering arm bushes(front beam) headlight bulb retainer The following may fail the mot, or requires attention o/s floor/ 1st outrigger rotten n/s outrigger rotten handbrake cables corroded engine tinware and engine bay seal missing Bodywork is very good in most places – although some rusts has appeared on the bottom of the front doors and some bubbling by the rear door opener. I have original cabinets and rear seat to go inside (see photos) – these need a little attention to make them shipshape and are worth hundred of pounds on their own. New front wiring loom (fitted in the last few weeks) New rear cab flooring fitted. 4 white wall tyres (hardly used) fitted 1 year ago. Many panels replaced prior to respray Original front seats. I would advise inspecting this vehicle prior to bidding – to somebody who has the time, this will not take much to turn it into an excellent vehicle. Please note that I do consider the final bid to be final. I have been as honest as possible with my descrption but cannot say for sure if more or less work is needed to make the vehicle roadworthy. Winning bidder will need to pay £200 deposit via Paypal which holds vehicle for 7 days with balance in cash on delivery, and arrange for the vehicle to be collected. A trailer or transporter will be needed.

….Wetsfalia camper 1973 manufactured 1972 so tax exempt. To many projects!!! Great original van with original interior. Cupboards all in excellent condition Cloth to rear bed/seats and upper bed all in excellent condition. i`ve cleaned this exact cloth before and it will literally come up like new. New canvas best quality. ( only fitted temp to try for fitting, can be removed for painting etc) Chassis and underneath is very good.Engine lid and rear hatch good. Inner front arches good.Rear arches needing small repairs.front jacking points good. Needs welding ie:- Replacment front n/s arch/step. Repair to o/s arch/step.Repairs to cab doors or replace.Small repair to sliding door.Both outer cills.2 rear jacking points.2 rear corners and 1 battery tray. Approx 2 weeks work welding for a professional. Has no Engine at present and a rear window missing. Otherwise a complete original van. This is a lovely straight van, with potential to make an outstanding van and tax exempt and westfalia. They don`t come any better than this!!! Restoration could be undertaken by ourselves but this would not be ready till late summer/autumn. Call Dave on 07989477270

….Took this in px as elderly lady owner wanted to downsize to something more practical as her grandchildren have grown up and was used to take them on trips in France where she lived; was imported from Germany in 2006 and registered in the uk because of the hassle registering a vehicle in France and she visited relatives in England a few times a year. The camper is left hand drive, 1.6 turbo diesel 5 speed gearbox. It is in very good condition throughout considering its age. Starts on the button and drives very well. ….Westfalia interior in excellent condition from a LHD 1970 walk through bay window. Relisted due to timewaster.Includes wardrobe unit, rock n roll bed in full working order (recently re- upholstered in marine grade vinyl), buddy seat (also reupholstered), table,sink unit in full working order with cutlery drawer (the sink unit has been refurbished to a very high standard). All fixings have been kept. Selling due to refurbishment of interior for wedding hire so camping interior no longer needed. We are in Dorset, buyer collects.
